Supporting your mental well being with care & practical strategies
For over 25 years, I’ve helped people make sense of life’s challenges, in their relationships, work and personal well-being through grounded, compassionate psychology.

I can help if you’re...
Feeling stuck, flat or disconnected from yourself or those around you
Managing work and life, but running on empty behind the scenes
Wanting to rebuild confidence and trust yourself
Navigating change, grief or relationship strain without much space to process it
Caught in cycles of doubt and wanting clarity about what’s next
Clinging to old coping strategies which don't work like they used to
Looking to feel more grounded, focused and emotionally steady again
Carrying guilt, frustration or anxiety and wishing you didn’t have to hold it alone
Doing your best, but it’s starting to feel like too much

How I can support you
I offer compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults who want to feel more steady, supported and connected. My approach draws on proven techniques, but is always guided by your needs, pace and lived experience.
I aim to create a space where you can be real, reflect without judgement, and work through what’s getting in the way – whether that’s stress, low mood, relationships, or just feeling off track. Sessions are available in person in Camberwell or online, with or without a GP referral.
Hello, I’m John
I’m a psychologist who’s long been curious about how people manage life’s challenges, what makes problems feel overwhelming, and what helps people move forward.
Throughout my life I have seen the same themes appear such as stress, self-doubt, relationship strain, burnout, and the experience of feeling stuck.
Our work together is practical and evidence-based, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the principles of Positive Psychology.
If you’re looking for calm, dependable support to better manage life’s demands and reconnect with what matters, I’d be glad to talk about how we might work together.

FAQs
If you’re considering coaching, you might be wondering what to expect. Here are a few common questions I get from business owners and professionals before we start. If you need more detail, I’m happy to talk it through.
What happens in the first session?
In your first session, we’ll talk through what’s been going on for you, what you’re finding challenging, and what you’d like support with. It’s a chance to share your priorities at your own pace and get a sense of whether this approach feels comfortable and helpful for you.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. I offer sessions via secure video for people who prefer to meet remotely or who live outside the area. Many people find that online sessions give them flexibility while still feeling connected and supported.
Is this therapy or something else?
This is psychological therapy. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, with a focus on helping you understand patterns, build coping skills, and support your wellbeing. Sessions are guided by what you need, and we work together to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe and structured way.
What kind of concerns do people usually bring?
People come to therapy for many reasons — feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood, or unsure how to navigate a difficult time. Others want support with relationships, stress, life transitions, grief, or noticing unhelpful patterns that keep repeating. There’s no “right” reason to come; therapy can be helpful whenever you’re wanting understanding, clarity, or change.
How long do people usually stay engaged?
Some people find a few sessions helpful for navigating a specific situation, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. There’s no set timeline — the pace and length of therapy are shaped by your needs, goals, and what feels right for you.
